CWL Group has been asked to design and install a premium heating and cooling system for a high-end residential client, successfully navigating such project challenges as:

• An extremely narrow driveway which made it difficult to maneuver large drilling machinery in, around, and out of the property.
• Residential noise restrictions imposed by the local council
• An architectural design that provided limited space for heating and cooling fan-coil units, necessitating the use of Building Information Modeling (Revit) to determine how best to incorporate the required equipment whilst avoiding clashes with other services.

CWL Group is well-versed in navigating difficult building sites, and they used their decades of experience to plan the installation of the geothermal exchange system’s vertical ground heat exchanger at the Northbridge residence. This project was one of the most difficult to date, with an extremely narrow driveway yielding complexities in mobilsing the drilling equipment into place.

After careful planning and multiple site visits to strategise the best approach, the bores have been successfully drilled and the project is well underway. The Northbridge project will show future clients how a ground-source heating and cooling system is achievable on tight residential lots, no matter how difficult the site may seem.
